Whether it’s Christmas or your birthday, there always seems to be an excess of gift cards floating around. And most of them aren’t even for places you like. Well if you live in or are visiting California, there’s a law that states once those gift cards are under the $10 mark, you can legally exchange them for cash. Store owners who sell gift cards are legally obligated to give you the amount of your gift card back to you in cold hard cash.
This saves business from selling a million gift cards but not actually selling low priced items, which either forces you to throw out the card, or to buy something you don’t really want.
